Winrock International is a nonprofit organization that works with people in the United States and around the world to empower the disadvantaged, increase economic opportunity, and sustain national resources. The Smallholder Oil Palm Support Project is a three year (2011-2014) program designed to increase the productivity, profitability, marketing and enabling environment of the oil palm sector.
Main Duties
· Prospect and select metalworking workshops to be trained in the manufacturing of oil palm processing equipment;
· Organize and carry out testing protocols for oil palm processing technologies to be developed;
· Plan, organize and lead manufacturer trainings and follow up for selected technology manufacturers;
· Develop technical support documents such as user guides and training manuals;
· Work with manufacturing partners to ensure quality control and to keep records to track processing equipment sales; and
· Collaborate with private sector equipment vendors to ensure technology quality and promote the adoption of a sustainable distribution and equipment supply chain.
Key Qualifications:
· At least 5 years of professional experience in agricultural equipment manufacturing;
· A certificate of Apprenticeship or Training in Metalworking.
· Exhibits a high level of metalworking ability as well as the capacity to learn rapidly, and guide others in construction of new oil palm processing equipment;
· Hold a valid Liberia motorcycle drivers license.
